People wait for the Ark to arrive and rescue them while their habitat falls apart.　　Delving deep into the dusty and long abandonded vaults of b-cinema in search of lost gems always leaves me with a bittersweet taste. On one hand the discovery of unexpected gems where no one would think them possible is a rewarding experience. On the other hand though it makes one wonder how many of these remarkable low-budget oddities, personal love affairs of directors never quite famous and now all but forgotten, have almost forever slipped from memory　　n any case what we have here is a little post-apocalyptic gem from Poland that is really better than it has any right to. The dystopian near future of O-BI, O-BA finds a group of survivors of the nuclear war that ravaged the Earth inhabiting an underworld concrete bunker and biding their time as they wait for the mysterious Ark, an air ship of some kind that will come and save them. The Ark proves to be an elaborate hoax, carefully designed to give hope to the malnourished and desperate denizens of the bunker, while in the meantime the dome that separates their miserable existence from the nuclear winter outside is slowly caving in.　　What first striked me about the movie is the design of the bunker and the depiction of the survivors. The survivors are gaunt, filthy and terrible-looking penitents, dressed in rags and aimlessly wandering the neon-lit halls of the bunker like automatons. The bunker is a rundown, seedy place, with bright neon lights peering from all sides like the eyes of malignant beasts.　　On one hand it is a slightly 80's depiction of the dystopian future but the movie never stoops down to MAD MAX cheese. Instead it combines biting political satire with the bleak outlook of a world with no future, black comedy with barbs on apathy, religion and power. The survivors, for example, are fed some kind of flour dropping from a tube that hovers in the air - later on we discover the food supervisor uses books and the Bible itself as filler for this meagre meal. There are many such short symbolic touches, perhaps not life-changing or faith-restoring, yet playful, clever and inspired.　　One thing is for sure; O-BI, O-BA is not your run-of-the-mill sci-fi schlock. It overcomes its modest budget with creativity and has genuine artistic aspirations both from a writing and directing perspective. My opinion is that it should have been filmed in black and white instead of colour though. The director uses atmospheric light and shadow to great effect and it would have registered even better in stark black and white. The blue-green neon on the other hand outstays its welcome after a while. Just a minor gripe in an otherwise solid b-movie with its heart set in all the right places.　　Imagine a less bleak THE ROAD (Cormac McCarthy) being injected with the satire and humour of DR.STRANGELOVE and you're getting there. See it if you can find it.

系列纪录片《光阴的故事》分为《闪亮的日子》、《友谊长存》两集，每集52分钟。全片以“六七”学校为切入点，再现半个世纪前老挝青少年在中国学习的历史情景，着眼于当下两国在农业、教育、商贸、资源、交通、通讯、社会生活等方面的诸多精彩故事，力图向观众全面展现中国与老挝从政府到民间的真挚情感和传统友谊，表达两国在未来道路上相互支持、共同发展的美好愿景。1967年，中国在南宁无偿援助“六七”学校，它为老挝培养了无数致力于老挝各行各业发展的人才，为中老互通有无搭建了广阔的平台。2016年正值中老建交55周年，《光阴的故事》开篇以“六七”学校曾经的亲历者为主视角，娓娓道来“六七”学校与他们的温情故事，以夹议夹叙的手法回顾“六七”学校的光辉历史进而重温中老唇齿相依、亲如一家人的脉脉深情。中国——老挝人民的第二个家“我们永远不会忘记中国人民给予老挝革命事业的援助。”纪录片《光阴的故事》中老挝副总理兼教育体育部部长潘坎·维帕万在接受记者专访时曾深情地说道。同属于社会主义国家的老挝与中国是政治上的伙伴，更是兄弟，坦诚相待与相互扶持贯穿中老关系。《光阴的故事》纪录片主人公之一，老挝现任劳动与社会保障部的部长——卡彭.赛宋篇也曾经是“六七”学校的一员。在“六七”学校学习并顺利毕业的他回国后将在“六七”学校学到的知识学以致用，对老挝劳工进行岗前培训，培养职业道德与职业技能。在他的努力下，现在老挝的劳工已经有了改善。纪录片《中老人民情谊深》摄制组在老挝采访跨国爱情成国际佳话纪录片《光阴的故事》还通过老、中、青三代人的生活视角，在搭建两国友谊桥梁上，在文化、体育、商贸等不同方面交流的人物和故事，展现两国人民共同进步，共同发展，友爱互助的历程和辉煌前景。直至如今，广西各大学还会在老挝传统新年之际，联合中老学生一同举行泼水节，泼水嬉戏，共同欢度老挝传统新年。在中老近50年的交往之中，其中一段跨国婚姻是两国津津乐道的佳话。中国女婿姚宾在老挝收获了事业与一生的挚爱，并积极资助老挝基础设施建设，努力为老挝发展做出贡献，被老挝国家主席朱马里称为“最信任的中国女婿”。中老两国签署铁路合作协议习近平主席指出周边外交的基本方针就是坚持与邻为善、以邻为伴，坚持睦邻、安邻、富邻，突出体现亲、诚、惠、容的理念。五洲传播中心、广西电视台与老挝国家电视台联合策划、制作体现中国与老挝国家友谊的系列纪录片《光阴的故事》就是将这样的外交理念进行了很好的阐释。它不仅仅体现了中老之间的友好，更折射出中国与东盟国家以及“一带一路”国家的深厚感情。
